The Miami Tribe of Oklahoma is a Federally recognized sovereign nation. In our native language, our tribe’s name is Myaamia, which means the downstream people. The tribe originated in the Great Lakes region, and the tribal headquarters are now in Miami, Oklahoma. Today, our Nation is a strong and vibrant community with Tribal members living and working across U.S. We work diligently to make choices and changes built solidly on the foundation passed to us by our predecessors.
